Rachel Lee Using Scissors

One of my favorite things about Rachel Lee is that when she cuts she opens her mouth with the scissors. Open scissors = open mouth; cloes scissors = closed mouth. It's just so cute!!

Pumpkin Carving Time!

This year was the first year that Hannah carved her pumpkin ALL BY HERSELF! It was impressive and she was so proud of herself. Rachel Lee also insisted on carving her itty-bitty pumpkin. We had to use a baby spoon to get the seeds out. After I got the top off (not an easy task when the pumpkin is so small) I gave it to her she said in a high pitch voice, "Ahhh...hello baby pumpkin." Kate carved her hand on the side of her pumpkin's face. It was quite and interesting touch. Every year we do the same activity of carving, but each year things are so different. I love watching my kids grow up and am blessed to sit around with them and enjoy simple tasks together.

Fall Festival and Parade

At the girl's elementary school there was a Fall Festival where kids could also dress up and walk in a parade. It was after school on Friday, and it was a perfect way to end a week...with junk food, game booths, and lots of noise and chaos. The girls were in h-ea-ven! Kate dressed up as a bride an Rachel Lee was Princess Belle. This is Kate with a sweet friend Allie. Kate also took a photo with her teacher Mrs. Danko. Wonder Woman, aka Hannah, walking by in the parade. Cotton candy all around!! Rachel Lee was hilarious trying to actually bite into the cotton candy...it was one messy treat! Face painting... ...Games... ...and Hannah trying to pop a balloon over the principal's head...unfortunately she missed. We came home and I let the girls watch a show while I had a little quiet time in my garden pruning and sweeping. Phew...what a fun, and somewhat exhausting, time!

The Coolest Pumpkin Patch

We were driving back from Sacramento visiting some friends when we saw a sign for the Coolest Pumpkin Patch. The girls had been asking to go to a pumpkin patch, so we stopped and had the GREATEST time ever. We played, laughed, and had a fun time. It truly was the coolest patch ever...and we will be going back again next year. Yep, that's a pumpkin launcher. It was cool. Well, not everyone liked the pumpkin cannon, but we ALL had a great time! I can't wait until next year...we will definately be going back to this really cool pumpkin patch!

Her Black Eye

Sweet Kate slipped in the bathroom at school because of a puddle close to the sink. She fell backwards and somehow in the process got a black eye and cut close to her eye. She was a trooper though, and got an ice pack from the office and then headed back to class. Later she came home and cried and said, "I was so brave. I didn't cry at all even though it really hurt." My sweet Kate is very guarded around people, but I am so blessed to know her true thoughts and feelings. Here is a picture of her war wound.

I happen to think that she is the prettiest little black eyed gal!

Are you from Texas?

I can't figure out why people think we are moving from Texas. We are clearly from San Diego!

Quality time with my Quality Gal

With Hannah at school full day, and Kate at school half day, Rahcel Lee and I have some great quality time (although not today because I am trying to catch up on the blog...we'll see how that goes!). I love my one-on-one time with her. I never had that time with Hannah because I took care of other kiddos (Frankie and Jos) and then we lived with another family (Frankie and Dexter) and then we had Kate and that was the any one one one time. Kate had some of this quality time when Hannah went to preschool and RL was sleeping, but it was not as regular and predictable as the time I get now with RL. We dance, paint, do science, bead, make playdough and of course play hide and seek A LOT! I am really enjoying my RL time. She is a blessing and a joy during the mundane tasks of laundry, dishes and housework. And as a benefit, I think she will make an excellent cup of coffee in the near future since she is my helper every morning when I brew my cup o' joe!
