Big God

Sitting at the table at the tail end of dinner...
H: Mommy let's talk.
S: Okay Hannah. (thinking, what have we been doing all day?) What should we talk about?
H: God.
S: I love talking about God. Do you know that God loves you?
H: Mommy, my God is so big!
S: He is big. Big enough to do anything and He cares so much that He will take care of you.
H: Yes. My God is big.
Then she hopped off leaving me to think about the vastness of God. It's amazing how a conversation with a 2 year old can inspire and bewilder you.

Lunch with Dad

This is one of our new favorite things: meeting Jeff for lunch. It's great. We get to eat on a grassy flied with lot of room to run around, look at an amazing view of the ocean, and just chat with each other in the middle of the day. Today was extra special too - Hannah and Kate wore their costumes, and others from Jeff's lab joined us for a picnic lunch.

The Hunts

Our friends, Boyce, Grace and their two sons Wade and Elec, are going to be leaving in about a month. We tagged along on their last adventure to the San Diego Zoo before they move, and had a great time. Hannah and Kate love the boys, and Grace is about the only non-family member that Kate will go to. Thanks for such a fun time at the Zoo today!

And more cookies!

Now I know why people gain weight around the holidays!!! We made cookies with some other kids and mom at our playgroup. It was a little chaotic, but happy chaos is always welcome chaos!!

Cookies!

Growing up we made sugar cookies for the holidays. Halloween sugar cookies, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines day, and I vaguely remember some Easter cookies here and there. This year Hannah and Kate made sugar cookies with their cousins.

Everytime I am with my nieces and nephews I get such happiness from seeing the love they share, and have such peace knowing that these are relationships that will follow them throughout their lives. What a blessing to be so close to family and build such strong family ties!!!

Pumpkin Patch Part 2

Wade and Elec are some of Hannah's favorite friends. Kate loves Mrs. Grace, their mom. Their family has been such a huge blessing to us all as we settle into life here in Mira Mesa.


Hannah settled on this pumpkin when she realized there were no blue, red or pink pumpkins.

On the hay ride Hannah kept her hand on Kate and Kate put her hand on top of Hannah's. I love seeing these sister moments.

Farm Girls

This week my city girls went to the farm twice!! We went with a friend, Grace, and her two sons, Wade and Elec, and had a great time. This Saturday Jeff, the girls and I went back for another farm tour. It happened to be 90 degrees, so at the end of the day Jeff was wishing we had gone to the beach. It just feels wrong going to the beach on Oct. 17, but when life gives you sunshine...
