H-O-R-S-E

Jeff and Hannah played HORSE together. Jeff has never gone easy on his girls but today, for the first time, Hannah won!!

Even though he lost in HORSE, he is a winning dad! Tonight at dinner the yalk time question was "If you could choose one superhero power what would it be?" Hannah chose Wonder Woman's lasso of truth, Kate chose the power to be closer to God, and RL chose to be Dad. It's fitting since he is a real live superhero!

Church family

Jeff and I are amazed at how quickly we have found a church and some solid friends so quickly! We prayed a lot before this move, and we can clearly see how much God has provided and cared for us! Here is Jeff on the older guys team whooping on the younger guys in our church...a true sign if brotherly love!
And the kids even got in on the action!

VBS

It was a wild vacation Boble school the girls went to this year. The churches in Castro valley pool their resources and host a MASSIVE  VBS. And it was awesome!!

I did it myself!

RL has officially entered the "I do it myself!" phase. It's not a bad phase, in fact we encourage independence in our house (get your own water, make your bed, clean your toys...) but there are jus some things that are better let to me...but since RL wants to do it I have let her, and here is how she looks sometimes! What a look!!!

Butterfly catching

We went to the park and Kate and Rachel Lee has just finished eating mango when a butterfly began landing on them. They had to hold very still but the butterfly enjoyed my little sweeties!

Running with my gals

I love that summer means more time together. Running at the lake together brings back memories of running in San Diego, but at Lake Chabot it's a whole new wxperience! Hills! Steep drops! Hills!! But the best part is being together!
And what's a run without some time to throw rocks in the lake?!?!

Xteme science magic!

Oir library in Castro valley has an event every day for the kids this summer. The girls love going and participating in these events!

Swim lesson!!!

A trip to the dentist = a visit from the tooth fairy!

Hannah has been in the watch for wiggly teeth for a whole now. I have been on the watch for teeth growing behind her teeth just in case...and sure enough a little tooth sprouted up behind the bottom front tooth. Fortunately Hannah already had a dentist appointment scheduled two days after I noticed the tooth. So her cleaning appointment turned into a tooth pulling appointment. Here she is before with all her teeth...
And here is the after...missing two bottom front teeth
Good thing this was followed by a visit from the tooth fairy!!

Pool time!!

When I inflated our "pool" Kate said, "I've been waiting for this aaallll year!!" And RL said, "we have a pool?!?!" We had a fun time splashing and playing and cooled off quite a bit! Here's to the rest of summer enjoying pool time!

FRIENDS!!

Another looonnnggg trip to Kaiser

We were at a play area when Hannah had the brilliant idea to jump from one play structure to the other. But she missed and twisted her ankle. After long trip to the doctors it turns out to be a sprain...thankfully...I wasn't looking forward to caring for her again with a cast. The funniest part was when the doctor, after hearing that she jumped from one structure to another told her to take it easy...yeah, like that will ever happen!!

Cheers to Lucky 13!

This is our 13th year as Mr. and Mrs. It's crazy to think it's been 13 years...in some ways it seems like it went so fast and in others it seems like it's been forever. But we've weathered it together and we know that whatever lies ahead we'll weather that as well trusting God to carry us through.
