My Hot Date!

My folks took care of the kiddos so we could sneak away an evening. We went to Cheesecake Factory then to see the third Hibbit in 3-D.

Turns out Jeff can really rock his 3-D glasses!

Reconnecting with San Diego Friends

This year I took some extra time for our Christmas vacation so we could have time to see friends...and it was so good! We started by seeing the Maculeys at a park...

Then the leaders and their new home! We also took an outing to La Jolla shores...a real highlight to go to the beach!

Rachel Lee at first was intimidated by the waves, and it made me sad to think that she didn't know how to play in the waves, but by the end of our beach time she was wet and sandy...a sign of a good beach time!

Then we stayed at the Wongs house and saw Harbor church friends, including the little girl I used to watch, Ellie, who is now a big sister!

We lunched at our pasties house, the met our old neighbor for a coffee before heading back to mom and dads house...it was packed but so worth the time to see old friends!

Amy's Preformance

Sweet Amy was singing some songs at her school, and we were able to watch. Jenna did not tell her we were coming just in case something changed, so when she saw us she turned red and got tears.,.it was soooo sweet to see her excitement! I felt e same way!

And of course every celebration should be topped off with a meal at Chick-fil-a. Good times, good food, great company. Life is happy!

Making a Gingerbread House

1. Buy a kit

2. Use a TON of frosting and build the house

3. When it collapses try again

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you succeed

And because we had left over frosting we thought we decorate our faces too...

All in all we were successful and had fun...who could ask for more?

Christmas cheer

Christmas brings parties, and this family party at a local church encouraged kids to learn about Christmas around the world. It was cute, fun and easy to complete. 

Then we went to boulvard burgers with some friends...look at all these girls!

Gilead Holiday Party

Gilead had a really fun holiday party this year. The girls enjoyed the chocolate fountains, stuffing their own penguin, jumping in a bounce house and getting their faces painted. It was a but cold and wet, but fun nonetheless!

iPad Time!

We got an iPad through the school and have really enjoyed using it for school related activities.

Okay...it's also fun to play on too!

Glass Fusing

We went to one of our local art studios and made some glass creations for our grandparents for Christmas. There's nothing quite as relaxing as creating something beautiful for someone you love!

Davis for a Day

We had done missionary friends that we met while we attended Davis visit the area, so we were able to drive to Davis and see our old apartment and play at a park with our gals where once newly weds Jeff and Sarah picnicked together. It was a lot of fun, chilly, but fun!

Basketball for Hannah

Hannah enjoyed basketball last year, so here she is,mooing it again, her friend Oliva is on her team, and Olivia's dad, John, is the coach, and Jeff is the assistant coach. So far things are going well. My favorite moments have been when Hannah was dribbling and got surrounded by defenders on the opposite team...she started dribbling lower and lower over the ball until I could hardly see her. Her friend and teammate Olivia ran around and she handed it to her, but it was so funny to watch her get lower and lower while still managing to dribble!

Another time was relate to the rule in this league that you can't have back court defense, so when Hannah was dribbling in the ball to her side of the court, a boy was defending against her. She shielded the ball with her body the pointed at the boy to get to the other side...he paused, the ran to his side of the court allowing her to dribble up without any problems, when I asked her later what she told him she just said, "I told him he had to go to his side." All the parents laughed at this exchange, and I beamed knowing at she has the confidence and energy to stand up for herself and the rules. My girl is something else!!
