Glasses for my reader

Hannah has been squniting and making quite a few little errors in reading, so I took her in to get her eyes checked and the doctor recommended a very low perscription to be used just when she is reading. This girls makes these glasses look great! 

What does being 60 look like?

Well, if I turn 60 and look as great as my mom, and have as much energy and laughter as my mom, then I will be doing something right. Because here she is, at 60, still having fun...

Which of course is contagious so we all had to join in:

To start off our time together, Jeff and I brought the girls down and coordinated a surprise visit from Rachel, my oldest sister who is living in Colorado. We convinced my mom that we were going on a date, then returned from the airport with Rachel!! So fun!!! Then the day of we went to Amy's, my nices', basketball game. After lunch we got coffee (again) and then the rest of the family surprised my mom with a fun dinner. Okay, so maybe the night before Iblew the surprise, but mom acted surprised.

How did I ruin the surprise you ask...well, after weeks of planning, reserving food, coordinating with family to get the cake so she'd be surprised, the night before, less than 24 hours before, Mom, Dad, Rachel, Jeff and I were gathered around the table at Mom and Dad's house and was telling them,  "Papa had borrowed our pop up tent and was going to bring it back tomorrow at the..." and then I paused...and tried to cover it up by talking more..."I mean if he is around tomorrow he was going to give it to Aunt Connie tomorrow, who would then try to see you at some time because it is um, your birthday, but not this weekend because we are here, so like later." And then I looked at Jeff who just shrugged, and Dad burst out laughing as well as everyone else at the table because we all knew that SHE knew what was going on. But, she assured me 

Gymnastics

The girls finally started GYMNASTICS!! Their goal of course is to learn how to do a cart wheel, but my goal is to keep them physically fit, enteracting with other kiddos, and having fun! Coach Jivco is a serious Bulgarian coach who taught some Olympic medalist in Bulgaria. So, this should be interesting and who knows...may result in a gold medal, or at least a cart wheel! 

Hiking

Hiking with my gals...one of my favorite things to do, and I'm so lucky that we have trails behind our house where we can just walk and enjoy being out together. Plus, as the school year is closing (this picture was taken in February but I'm not actually blogging about it until MAY! Yes, my life is that crazy, busy now...) I'm wondering what our year will look like next year. Will we send the girls to Vannoy again or homeschool...if we go with Vanoy these hiking times will be less often because of school activities. So for now, I treasure these days and moments with my girls, knowing how truly blessed it to to walk around, enjoy nature, find "secret passages" and just be together. 

Dog Tales...

Well, we took on an adventuorous and energetic dog, and unfortunaely we had to give her back. She was a beautiful dog, but seemed to have anxiety being away from other dogs. In fact, when I called to ask the owners to return her after a trial period, they suggested I get a puppy to comfort her. Well, if I'm going to train a puppy I don't want a dog with anxiety also...I DO have some limits. But, while she was here all the girls loved her and were suer happy to play with her. Maybe one day we will get a dog, but until then we will just love on Chippers when Mom and Dad come and visit.

And fortunately we were able to borrow Chip for a loan for a full week...FUN TIMES!!
