Daddy
Jeff leaves for work around 7ish. We follow him out, usually in our jammies, give him kisses good bye and then the girls run to the light pole by our house, trying to beat Jeff on his bike, and they wave good bye and yell things until he rounds the corner. On this day Jeff took the car since he had a meeting until late, but I love seeing my girls waiting together for Jeff to pull out...I love seeing the tube container in Kate's hand, and Hannah hopping down the steps to wave bye, and Rachel Lee staring and taking it all in. It's such a reflection of life for us now: happy, loving chaos.

Surgery Take Two
My Kate's tube came out and she had an ear infection. After waiting a while I took her to the Head and Neck Specialist (used to be called ear, nose, throat) and he recommeded surgery again because of all the fluid in her ear. Bummer. But, Kate was brave and took it well so we scheduled the appointment and off we went...

Kate with her backpack-o-fun as we called it...all kinds of fun things to do while waiting for the surgery, including Lacy, her bear.

A friend agreed to take care of Rachel Lee and pick Hannah up from preschool. I am so grateful for the network of friends that we have here in San Diego!!

Unfortunately the surgery was scheduled for noon, and she could not eat or drink anything after 8pm the night before. The surgeons were running late, so she wasn't in surgery until 1:30...after the surgery I told her we could eat together. I asked her what she wanted me to pack in her lunch box and she said, "Avocado and cucumbers." Weird, but my baby got what she asked for...here she is still a little dazed in the car eating some cucumbers.

Game On!!
My Hannah has taken to games...any games and all games. She loves learning new games, playing, and even has matured into handling loss well. I love how she is growing and changing, and love watching her take risks in games such as Jenga, that I would never take. Just look at this stack that is balanced on one block and twisted around...it ended up falling soon hereafter, but what a fun time we had stacking!!

A Park to Remember
Early January has been marked by unseasonably warm weather. So, we headed to the park to enjoy a picnic lunch and some park fun. This park has a HUGE sand pit, and it turned out to be a place that all three of the girls played in for a long time. Rachel Lee did not even try to eat the sand despite her crawling, laying and eventually rolling in the sand. Love that girl!
